Skin boosters or polynucleotides?
Skin boosters are chosen for hydration and surface quality. Polynucleotides are chosen to support the skin's own repair in thinner, crepey areas such as under the eyes. At RevIVe Your Look in Westcliff-on-Sea, skin boosters start at £190 and polynucleotides at £220, and which one you are offered is decided in person, not in advance.
How do skin boosters and polynucleotides compare?
Skin boosters and polynucleotides are both injectable skin-quality treatments given as a short course. The table below is how the two are used at RevIVe Your Look, with prices taken from the studio's own treatment menu in September 2026.
| Skin boosters | Polynucleotides | |
|---|---|---|
| Mainly chosen for | Hydration, smoothness and even skin tone | Thin, crepey or less resilient skin, often under the eyes |
| Price at RevIVe Your Look | From £190 per session | From £220 per session |
| Typical areas | Face, and sometimes the neck | Under-eye area, face and neck |
| How it is given | Fine injections just beneath the skin surface, usually as a course | Fine injections as a short course, sessions spaced weeks apart |
| Review appointment | Included two weeks after treatment | Included two weeks after treatment |
| Suitable for over-18s only, ID checked | Yes | Yes |
What is the difference between skin boosters and polynucleotides?
The difference is what each one is asked to do. A skin booster is placed just beneath the surface and is chosen when skin looks dull, dehydrated or tired; polynucleotides work by supporting the skin's own repair processes, and are chosen when skin has become thinner, crepey or less resilient.
If your concern is surface texture and scarring rather than hydration, microneedling from £150 may be the better conversation. If your concern is lines and movement, that is a separate, prescriber-led consultation Skin Boosters vs Polynucleotides.
Raquel will talk you through what each treatment is used for and what she would recommend in your position, in person at consultation.
Which one is right for me?
That is decided at consultation, in person, after your medical history is taken. As a guide, this is how the conversation usually goes at the studio:
- Skin looks dull, dry or tired, with fine texture: skin boosters are usually the first thing discussed, from £190.
- Skin under the eyes looks thin or crepey: polynucleotides are usually the first thing discussed, from £220.
- You are unsure, or you have had work elsewhere you are unhappy with: book a consultation and bring the details. Fillers placed elsewhere can be dissolved in the studio.
- Nothing needs doing: that is a real outcome here, and you will be told so rather than sold something.
Treatments are for over-18s only, ID is checked, and prescription treatments are never given on the same day as your first consultation.
What happens if I book?
Your first visit is a consultation, not a treatment. You leave with a written plan covering what is recommended, what it costs and what it will not do, and there is no deposit while you think it over.
If you go ahead, treatment is booked separately. The area is cleansed, numbing is used where appropriate, and the product is placed with fine injections. Both treatments are usually given as a course, and every treatment includes a review two weeks later. You are given written aftercare before you leave, along with a direct line to ask questions afterwards.
Everything is delivered one-to-one in a private studio at 12 Elderton Road, Westcliff-on-Sea, a short drive from Southend-on-Sea and Leigh-on-Sea.
Where these prices and details come from
Prices were checked against the RevIVe Your Look treatment menu in September 2026 and are a starting point, not a quote. Your own plan and cost are confirmed in writing at consultation, after your skin and medical history have been assessed in person. Results vary between individuals and are not guaranteed.
Skin boosters vs polynucleotides: common questions
What is the difference between skin boosters and polynucleotides?
Skin boosters are chosen mainly for hydration and surface quality, and polynucleotides are chosen mainly to support the skin's own repair processes in thinner, crepey areas.
Which is better for under-eye skin?
Polynucleotides are the treatment more often used around the under-eye area at RevIVe Your Look, because that skin is thin and the aim there is resilience rather than hydration alone. Whether it suits you is decided in person at consultation, after your medical history is taken.
How much do skin boosters and polynucleotides cost in Southend?
At RevIVe Your Look, skin boosters start at £190 and polynucleotides start at £220, checked against the studio's own treatment menu in September 2026. Both are usually given as a course, and your full plan and cost are confirmed in writing at consultation before anything is booked.
Can you have skin boosters and polynucleotides together?
They can be used at different points in a plan rather than in the same appointment, and that decision is made at consultation. Raquel will say plainly if one treatment alone is enough, or if neither is right for you.
How many sessions will I need?
Both treatments are usually given as a short course rather than a one-off, and the number of sessions is set out in your written plan at consultation. Every treatment includes a review two weeks later.
Do I need a consultation first?
Yes. Every first visit at RevIVe Your Look is a consultation covering your medical history, the area concerned and what you have had done before, and you leave with a written plan. Treatments are for over-18s only and ID is checked.
